Privacy Policy

The Lower Colorado River Authority ("LCRA", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through lcra.org and related subdomains, how we use it, and the choices you have. As a Texas conservation and reclamation district, certain records we hold are subject to the Texas Public Information Act.

Information we collect

  • Information you provide: when you submit a contact form, apply for a grant, request a service, or subscribe to updates, we collect the information you share (name, email, phone, message content).
  • Automatically collected: standard server logs including IP address, browser/device info, referring page, and pages viewed, collected via Cloudflare. We use server-side Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies or fingerprinting.
  • Cookies: lcra.org sets session cookies only when strictly necessary (e.g. form-submission flow). We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking pixels.

How we use information

  • To respond to your inquiries, deliver requested services, and fulfill business, grant, or information requests.
  • To operate, secure, and improve our website and services.
  • To comply with legal obligations including the Texas Public Information Act, records retention schedules, and regulatory requirements.

Information sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share information only with: service providers that help us operate the site (e.g. hosting, email delivery), under contract and confidentiality obligations; other government agencies when required by law; and in response to valid public information requests under Texas law.

Your choices

  • You can unsubscribe from LCRA email lists using the link at the bottom of any message we send.
  • You can request access to or correction of your information by emailing info@lcra.org or calling 512-473-3200.
  • You can disable cookies in your browser without losing access to most site features.

Data retention

We retain contact-form submissions, grant applications, and inquiries in accordance with Texas records retention schedules applicable to conservation and reclamation districts. Web server logs are retained for a short operational period and deleted on a rolling basis.

Security

LCRA uses industry-standard safeguards including HTTPS, access controls, and monitored infrastructure. No internet transmission is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
